Cristina del Pilar Guarín Cortés

Cristina del Pilar Guarín Cortés was a young social sciences graduate who tragically became a victim of the 1985 Palace of Justice siege, where she was murdered while working temporarily at the cafeteria. Her brother, René Guarín, has since become an advocate for peace and justice, reflecting on the lessons that should be learned from the violent past and the importance of negotiation in resolving conflicts.
