Utilizing her position in the aviation sector, she gathered intelligence on individuals targeted by the network, including journalists investigating Russian spies. Genčeva was part of a team that traveled to Berlin for surveillance activities and communicated with other members of the spy group, including the leader Orlin Rusev. Although she has not been charged with any crimes, Bulgarian intelligence services acknowledge her connection to the espionage activities.
