David McCallum
David McCallum was an African American man who spent nearly 30 years in prison for a murder he did not commit. His case drew attention due to the racial injustices prevalent in the legal system. In part due to the efforts of Rubin Carter, who fought for his release, McCallum was exonerated in October 2014, although Carter had passed away earlier that year, missing the opportunity to celebrate his friend's freedom.
