Deonarly Songcuya

Deonarly Songcuya is a passionate gardener from Scarborough, Ont., who has transformed her front yard into a vibrant vegetable garden over the past seven years. Growing a diverse array of plants including tomatillos, Thai basil, and over sixty varieties of peppers, she creates her own hot sauces and salsas while educating her children about nature and biodiversity. Her gardening journey is inspired by her childhood memories of her mother growing vegetables in Manila, and she finds joy in sharing her garden's bounty and knowledge with curious passersby.
