
Diego Fernández de Serpa
Diego Fernández de Serpa was a Spanish explorer and colonial administrator notable for his role in the rebirth of the settlement of Nueva Andalucía (Cumaná) in Venezuela. He successfully refounded the city on November 24, 1569, after the initial establishment by Fray Francisco de Montesinos had failed, thus contributing to the region's colonial history and development.
