Don Bosco
Saint John Bosco, commonly known as Don Bosco, was an Italian priest, educator, and writer who dedicated his life to the care and education of disadvantaged youth in the 19th century. He founded the Salesian Society, an organization devoted to the education of young people, particularly in the areas of vocational training, moral development, and religious instruction. Don Bosco's innovative teaching methods emphasized reason, religion, and loving-kindness, which became the foundation of his educational philosophy known as the Preventive System. His legacy continues through the work of the Salesians around the world, providing support and guidance to young people and their families. He was canonized as a saint by the Catholic Church in 1934, and his feast day is celebrated on January 31.
