Dózsa György
Dózsa György was a Hungarian peasant leader known for his role in the 1514 peasant revolt against the nobility and the oppressive feudal system. Originally a captain in the royal army, he was appointed by Cardinal Bakócz to lead a crusade against the Ottomans. However, he quickly became a symbol of the discontent among the peasantry, as the campaign spiraled into a rebellion against the nobles. Dózsa's uprising ultimately ended in brutal suppression, and he was captured and executed, but his legacy remains a poignant reminder of the class struggles faced by the common people in Hungary.
