Dumitru Prunariu

Dumitru Prunariu is a renowned Romanian cosmonaut, celebrated as the first Romanian to travel into space. He embarked on his historic flight aboard Soyuz 40 on May 14, 1978, marking a significant milestone in Romania's space exploration history. During his week-long mission, Prunariu conducted various scientific experiments aboard the Saliut-6 space station and became a symbol of national pride.
