Edwuar Hernández Herrera

Edwuar Hernández Herrera, a 23-year-old from Los Pescadores, Venezuela, was recently released from the notorious Center for the Confinement of Terrorism (Cecot) in El Salvador after being deported from the US. He endured severe mistreatment during his four months in the maximum-security prison, where he reported experiences of torture and abuse, including being shot at with rubber bullets. Upon his return, he was warmly welcomed by his family, who had decorated their home to celebrate his arrival, signifying the emotional relief and joy of his release.
