Eiko Kawasaki is a Japanese woman who was lured to North Korea at the age of 17 in 1960 as part of a propaganda scheme promising a better life. After enduring harsh conditions and forced labor, she escaped in 2003 and has since become one of the plaintiffs in a landmark lawsuit against North Korea, which recently resulted in a Tokyo court ruling recognizing the violation of her rights.
