
Eleonora de Toledo
Eleonora de Toledo (1522-1562) was a Spanish noblewoman and the wife of Cosimo I de Medici. As Grand Duchess of Tuscany, she was known for her significant influence on the arts and culture of Florence, and for her role in establishing the Medici court as a center of Renaissance culture. Her marriage to Cosimo was politically motivated and helped to strengthen ties between the Medici family and Spain.
