
Clemente VII
Clemente VII (1478-1534), born Giulio di Giuliano de' Medici, was the Pope from 1523 until his death. A member of the Medici family, he is known for his patronage of the arts and his political maneuvering, including his relationship with the Holy Roman Emperor Charles V.
