Pablo III
Pablo III served as pope from 1534 to 1549 and is best remembered for initiating the Counter-Reformation and for convening the Council of Trent. His leadership was pivotal in responding to the Protestant Reformation, and he played a significant role in the church's efforts to reform and reaffirm its doctrines.
