
San Pío V
Saint Pius V, born Antonio Ghislieri in 1504, was Pope from 1566 to 1572 and is most recognized for excommunicating Queen Elizabeth I of England and implementing the reforms of the Council of Trent. He is also known for establishing the Tridentine Mass, which standardized the Roman Catholic liturgy for centuries. Canonized as a saint in 1712, his legacy remains influential in the Catholic Church's history.
