
Paulo III
Pope Paulo III, born Alessandro Farnese in 1468, was the head of the Catholic Church from 1534 until his death in 1549. He is notable for his role in the Counter-Reformation and for convening the Council of Trent, which aimed to address the challenges posed by the Protestant Reformation. Paulo III is also recognized for his efforts to reform the church and for promoting important figures such as Michelangelo and the artist's work on the Sistine Chapel.
