Alessandro Geraldini

Alessandro Geraldini was the first resident bishop of Santo Domingo, serving in the early 16th century. His role was crucial in the construction of the Catedral Primada de América, which began in 1521 and was inaugurated in 1546. Geraldini's leadership helped to establish the Catholic Church's presence in the New World during a time of significant cultural and religious change.
