Elín Jónsdóttir Thorarensen

Elín Jónsdóttir Thorarensen (1881-1956) was an Icelandic woman known for her relationship with poet Jóhann Jónsson, which sparked controversy in early 20th-century Iceland due to their age difference. After becoming pregnant with Jóhann's child, she discreetly relocated to Copenhagen to give birth, ultimately leading to the child being placed for adoption. Elín later wrote a memoir detailing her experiences with Jóhann, which was met with criticism and sensitivity from their families.
