Elisa Encarnación

Elisa Encarnación is a 38-year-old Dominican mother who moved to Spain at the age of nine. Although she studied in Catalan during her education, she no longer uses the language in her daily life, as it is rarely spoken in her neighborhood. She works in a hospital kitchen and acknowledges that while she can speak Catalan, her opportunities to practice it are limited, contributing to her language skills becoming 'oxidized' over time.
