Elise Ballan

Elise Ballan serves as the Chair of the Durham Workers’ Rights Commission and is a strong advocate for the rights of migrant workers. During the Durham City Council meeting that passed a resolution to protect illegal immigrants from ICE, she voiced concerns about the dangers faced by individuals who do not conform to the dominant societal norms, calling attention to the manufactured panic surrounding immigration.
