Elizabeth Brotons

Elizabeth Brotons was the mother of Elián González, who tragically lost her life during a perilous journey from Cuba to the United States in 1999. Her attempt to take Elián to the U.S. in search of freedom set off a major international custody dispute after Elián was rescued at sea.
