Emil Brumaru

Emil Brumaru was a prominent Romanian poet, born on December 25, 1938, in Bahmutea, Bessarabia (now in Moldova). A graduate of the Faculty of Medicine in Iași, he worked as a doctor before dedicating himself to writing and literature. He gained recognition for his poetry, debuting in 1967 and publishing numerous works that earned him prestigious awards, including the Mihai Eminescu National Poetry Prize. Brumaru was known for his unique voice and contributions to contemporary Romanian literature, and he passed away in 2019, leaving behind a legacy as a beloved literary figure.
