Emílio Luís Mallet

Emílio Luís Mallet was a Brazilian military officer known for his valor during the War of the Triple Alliance. He gained fame for his leadership at the Battle of Tuiuti in 1866, where he famously declared, 'They can come; they will not pass here.' He later became the patron of the Brazilian Artillery and is remembered for his efforts to mitigate atrocities during the conflict, intervening to prevent further bloodshed among Paraguayan prisoners.
