Erlan Kozhagapanov

Erlan Kozhagapanov, born in 1968 in Almaty Region, Kazakhstan, is a former government official who served in various capacities, including as the Vice Minister of Culture and Sports from 2017 to 2020. He has an extensive background in public service and sports administration, having held positions such as the chairman of the Agency for Sports and Physical Culture and president of the Football Federation of Kazakhstan. He also worked as an advisor to the Prime Minister and held leadership roles within the city administration of Astana and Almaty. Recently, he has been in the news due to serious corruption charges linked to his tenure, involving allegations of embezzlement exceeding one billion tenge related to a cultural event contract.
