Darkhan Kurakbaev

Darkhan Kurakbaev is the Deputy Chairman of the Agency for Combating Corruption in Kazakhstan. He recently made headlines when he addressed the media regarding the case of Argin Nygmatulin, confirming that Nygmatulin had left Kazakhstan well before the initiation of an investigation against him. Kurakbaev's comments indicated that while Nygmatulin is being sought for alleged embezzlement related to public funds allocated for hockey development in the Karaganda region, the anti-corruption agency itself is not conducting the investigation, which is being handled by another state authority.
