Estelita

Estelita is a tigrilla (Leopardus guttulus) who became a symbol of resilience and hope for wildlife after being rescued from devastating forest fires in San Ignacio de Velasco in 2021. Found as a young cub, she was in dire condition and faced a challenging recovery that showcased the dedication of numerous professionals and institutions committed to wildlife rehabilitation. After four years of care at the Centro de Atención y Derivación de Fauna Silvestre (CAD) and collaboration with the veterinary team at Universidad Autónoma Gabriel René Moreno, she has now begun a new chapter at the Senda Verde Wildlife Refuge.
