Eyad Amawi

Eyad Amawi is a humanitarian aid worker and coordinator for local NGOs based in Gaza. He has been actively involved in providing relief to the Palestinian population amid the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis exacerbated by the Israeli blockade. With more than 19 months of experience on the ground, Amawi has witnessed the devastating effects of war, displacement, and famine on civilians, particularly children. His work focuses on coordinating efforts to deliver food, medical aid, and other essential services to those affected by the conflict. Recently, Amawi spoke out against the inadequacies of aid distribution efforts, particularly criticizing the Israeli-backed Gaza Humanitarian Foundation for its limited capacity to meet the overwhelming needs of the population, emphasizing that true relief can only come from UN agencies and the international community.
