Federico Nielsen-Reyes
Federico Nielsen-Reyes was a Bolivian diplomat and a prominent Nazi sympathizer born in La Paz in 1904. He is known for his controversial role as the translator of the first Spanish edition of Adolf Hitler's 'Mein Kampf,' published in 1935. His political affiliations and activities during the rise of Nazism in Europe positioned him as a significant figure in promoting Nazi ideology in South America. In late 1936, he controversially claimed that Spanish General Francisco Franco might have Jewish ancestry, a statement that intrigued the Nazi regime, which was deeply invested in racial purity. Nielsen-Reyes passed away in Madrid in 1987.
