Fengfan Zhang

Fengfan Zhang, 27, was also in the U.S. on a J-1 visa as part of an academic exchange program at the University of Michigan. He faces charges for conspiring to smuggle biological materials into the U.S., having received multiple packages containing biological samples from a co-defendant. He was arrested at John F. Kennedy International Airport while attempting to leave the country.
