Francisco González Cruz

Francisco González Cruz was a brigadier general and military physician in the Dominican Republic, known for his role as the director of the Medical Corps and Military Health during the regime of Rafael Leónidas Trujillo. Following Trujillo's assassination in 1961, González Cruz conducted the first medical examination of the dictator's body, documenting the details of the fatal wounds that ended Trujillo's over three-decade dictatorship. His medical report provided significant insights into the circumstances of Trujillo's death, revealing the extent of the violence inflicted on the dictator, including multiple gunshot wounds.
