
Francisco Javier Piedrahita Sánchez
Francisco Javier Piedrahita Sánchez was a Colombian figure implicated in paramilitary activities and organized crime, notably associated with notorious drug lord Gonzalo Rodríguez Gacha, alias el Mexicano. He was identified as the founder of the 'Nuevo Amanecer' paramilitary group and was linked to various properties in Colombia valued at over 19.5 billion pesos, which were seized in a major operation by Colombian authorities. Piedrahita's criminal activities extended to involvement in drug trafficking operations and he was captured in 1999 for paramilitarism and multiple homicides. He reportedly died in 2016.
