Francisco Valentín Barragán

Francisco Valentín Barragán is an immigrant from Santa María Zacatepec, Oaxaca, who moved to the United States at the age of 16 to provide a better life for his family. Over the past 30 years, he has worked in various fields, including agriculture and factories, while also dedicating himself to helping low-income individuals through his nonprofit organization, Fundación Mil Sonrisas, which he founded in 2018. Despite his contributions to society, he lives in fear of deportation due to his undocumented status, particularly heightened by the political climate under former President Donald Trump.
