Frank Taussig was an influential American economist and a professor at Harvard University, recognized as one of the leading experts on trade policy during the early 20th century. He was a vocal opponent of the Smoot-Hawley Tariff Act and was among the 1,028 economists who signed a letter to President Herbert Hoover in 1930, warning against the dangers of protectionist policies that could harm the economy.
