Fred Queiroga

Fred Queiroga, a member of the Republican party in Brazil, was recently in the news following his nomination by Hugo Motta to lead the Companhia de Desenvolvimento dos Vales do São Francisco e do Parnaíba (Codevasf) in Paraíba, despite having been convicted for embezzlement of public funds. In 2023, Queiroga was sentenced to nearly ten years in prison for his involvement in a fraudulent scheme while serving as treasurer for the municipality of Boa Ventura between 2005 and 2006.
