Frits van Oostrom

Frits van Oostrom is a distinguished Dutch scholar and professor emeritus of medieval Dutch literature, known for his significant contributions to academia at prestigious institutions such as Utrecht and Leiden universities, as well as a guest professorship at Harvard. He served as the chair of the Royal Netherlands Academy of Arts and Sciences and led the development of the Dutch canon in 2005, aimed at addressing declining historical knowledge in the Netherlands.
