Fyodor Polynin

Fyodor Polynin was a Soviet pilot who led the Soviet Volunteer Group during the Second Sino-Japanese War. He is best known for orchestrating the February 23, 1938 bombing raid on Taiwan, which aimed to cripple Japanese military operations in the region. Despite the mission's mixed results, Polynin's efforts highlighted the Soviet Union's support for China during a critical time in the conflict.
