Gabriela de Lourdes Hernández Chalte

Gabriela de Lourdes Hernández Chalte is a prominent Mexican activist and the director of Casa Tochan, a shelter for migrants from various nationalities in Mexico City. Since 2011, she has dedicated her life to supporting migrants fleeing violence and seeking better opportunities, influenced by her experiences in the Zapatista movement. A mother and grandmother, Gabriela believes in collective love and social justice, striving to create a community of solidarity among those she helps. She has a background in political science from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and has participated in various social justice initiatives, advocating for the rights and dignity of migrants facing increasing challenges in the current political climate.
