Gedilia Lonzandieu was a 36-year-old Haitian woman who tragically passed away due to a cardio-respiratory arrest while in the custody of the Dominican Republic's migration authorities. She was detained in La Vega for her irregular immigration status and was later transferred to a retention center in Haina, where she experienced severe health complications shortly after her arrival.
