General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo

General Mohammed Hamdan Dagalo, often referred to as Hemedti, is the leader of the Rapid Support Forces (RSF) in Sudan, a paramilitary group with roots in the Janjaweed militias notorious for their role in the Darfur conflict. Rising to prominence following the ousting of Sudanese President Omar al-Bashir in 2019, Dagalo has been implicated in a range of human rights abuses, including massacres and genocide. His forces became pivotal during Sudan's civil war that erupted in 2023, with accusations that he received military support from the United Arab Emirates, particularly Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed al-Nahyan, a member of the ruling family and owner of Manchester City Football Club.
