
George Candidius
George Candidius was a Dutch missionary known for his role as one of the first Protestant missionaries in Taiwan during the 17th century. He believed that a minimum commitment of ten to twelve years was necessary for missionaries to adequately learn the local languages, which he emphasized in his efforts to convert indigenous populations.
