Gerardo Oviedo Espinoza

Gerardo Oviedo Espinoza is a former mayor of Santa Ana, Costa Rica, who served from 2007 until 2024. He has recently been in the news for being declared administratively responsible by the Municipal Council for a real conflict of interest related to actions that favored his wife, including salary increases and contract approvals. Despite the findings, he cannot be sanctioned as he is no longer in office.
