
Gheorghe Crișan
Gheorghe Crișan (1733-1785) was one of the leaders of the peasant uprising in Transylvania in 1784. He played a crucial role in organizing the peasants' revolt against the Habsburg authorities. After the uprising was suppressed, Crișan was captured and committed suicide in prison, leaving a legacy as a martyr for peasant rights in Romanian history.
