
Iancu de Hunedoara
Iancu de Hunedoara (c. 1407-1456), also known as John Hunyadi, was a significant military leader and statesman in Hungary during the 15th century. He served as the Regent of Hungary and was instrumental in the fight against the Ottoman Empire, notably during the siege of Belgrade in 1456. Iancu is revered as a national hero in Romania and Hungary for his leadership and military prowess, and he was the father of King Matthias Corvinus.
