Gheorghe Cristescu

A prominent figure in Romanian politics and a founding member of the Romanian Communist Party, Gheorghe Cristescu was known for his advocacy for workers' rights and social justice. He became a notable political prisoner during the interwar period, enduring harsh conditions in the Văcărești prison, where he was incarcerated along with other dissidents, including Ioan Slavici.
