Gheorghe Gruia

Gheorghe Gruia, known as the 'Pele of handball,' was a prominent Romanian handball player who achieved remarkable success, including two World Championship titles in 1964 and 1970. He is celebrated for his exceptional scoring ability, having netted 736 goals in 127 international matches, and was a key member of Romania's 'Golden Generation' of handball, contributing significantly to the sport's history in the country.
