Gheorghe Țițeica

Gheorghe Țițeica was a prominent Romanian mathematician and educator, born on October 4, 1873, in Drobeta Turnu-Severin. He served as a professor at the University of Bucharest and the Polytechnic School in Bucharest, contributing significantly to the field of mathematics. A member of the Romanian Academy and several foreign academies, he was also awarded an honorary doctorate by the University of Warsaw. His work in mathematics, particularly in differential equations and applied mathematics, has left a lasting legacy in the academic community.
