Gonzalo Guerrero

Gonzalo Guerrero was a Spanish soldier who, after being shipwrecked on the coast of Mexico, assimilated into the local Maya culture. He established a family and became a respected leader within his community, refusing to return to Spain and instead choosing to live among the indigenous people.
