Gray Balawe

Gray Balawe is the Commissioner for Domestic Taxes at the Malawi Revenue Authority (MRA). He is responsible for overseeing tax policies and administration in Malawi, and recently came under scrutiny during a protest by small-scale traders in Limbe who accused the MRA of implementing punitive policies through the new Electronic Invoicing System (EIS). Balawe stated that the MRA would review the traders' concerns but did not offer significant concessions, indicating a complex balance between tax enforcement and the needs of local businesses.
