Guy Fawkes

Guy Fawkes was a key figure in the Gunpowder Plot of 1605, a failed attempt to assassinate King Iakovos I and blow up the Houses of Parliament in London. This conspiracy was driven by a group of Catholic extremists who sought to end Protestant rule in England. Fawkes was captured, tortured, and executed, becoming a symbol of resistance against government oppression, with his legacy celebrated annually on November 5th in the UK during Guy Fawkes Night.
