Iakovos VI of Scotland
Iakovos VI of Scotland, known as Iakovos I of England, was a significant monarch who reigned from 1603 to 1625. He was the first king to rule both England and Scotland, marking the Union of the Crowns. With a strong claim to the English throne through his grandmother, Margaret Tudor, he ascended to power following the death of Elizabeth I. His reign saw the translation of the Bible into English, known as the King James Bible, which remains influential today. Iakovos's belief in the divine right of kings led to tensions with Parliament, setting the stage for future conflicts, including the English Civil War.
