Hafizullah Amin

Hafizullah Amin was the Prime Minister of Afghanistan from September to December 1979, known for his role in the Soviet invasion of Afghanistan. His leadership was marked by attempts to modernize the country and align it with Soviet-style communism. However, his government faced widespread opposition, leading to a coup d'état by Soviet special forces during Operation Storm-333, which resulted in his assassination and paved the way for increased Soviet military presence in Afghanistan.
